Students are invited to apply for sea time to undertake
fieldwork aboard Undersea Explorer. Applications from many
backgrounds are welcome (e.g. tourism, photography or film
making, marine science, socio-economical), nonetheless the theme
should relate to marine science, management or conservation.
One
award of two weeks sea time, including food and diving costs, is
foreseen (with possibilities for more sea time or awards being
considered according to the merit of proposals and project
progress).
The award is to be given at the annual Australian
Coral Reef Society conference "From the Seas to the Skies: Coral
Reef Research", which will be held in at Mission Beach Resort,
Queensland, between the 18th and 21st of August 2006. |
